Stand firm! It’s so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of day-to-day responsibilities, forgetting an enemy lurks. But we do have an enemy…and it’s not each other. It never was. 💜
I remained oblivious about that until Jesus rescued my hiney 7 years ago and opened my eyes. Spiritual blindness is a real thing. Lost people just don’t get it, and arguing with them doesn’t win them over. It never worked on me. I sauntered arrogantly away from every conversation convinced you were the idiot.
Once I invited Jesus into my life, He opened my eyes. Sounds like I just gave in one day, but I was a hard nut to crack.
It turned my life upside down. “I once was blind, but now I see” weren’t just lyrics about Jesus healing a blind dude. It was about having our eyes spiritually opened. I didn’t know that.
Guess who felt like the idiot….this girl!
“God won’t put more on you than you can handle”.
Our panel determined….that was a lie.
Oh, yes He will.
Especially to save your stubborn rear from living in eternity apart from Him.
That’s a merciful God right there.
I had no idea that God was real….like, really real. And it wasn’t until I had my own encounter with Him that He gave me faith to be able to finally “get it”.
I remember saying, “God, I’m like 29 years old, and you want me to believe in people raising from the dead and angels, and all that crap? I’m not a kid. I can’t believe that stuff even if I wanted to”.
But I wanted to. I brought my tee tiny bit of willingness and Jesus did the rest.
“He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”
Luke 17:6 NIV
Jesus doesn’t want anyone to spend eternity apart from Him. One day we will die and the only way we will get to Heaven is through Jesus.
If you don’t know Him, ask to know Him. He can handle your questions and doubts….He’s God.
To the people who were willing to stand firm in spite of my scoffing and arguments…I commend you.
Hell will be full of people we were afraid to offend. Don’t be afraid. Be gentle. Be bold. But don’t be afraid.
You could be the reason some idiot girl gets into a tight spot and realizes there might be something to this Jesus stuff. 😉
